Symbolism of the house:

Myra House was designed with inspiration and the understanding that the house is one living body. As the Gospel indicates “ You shall love the Sovereign your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with your mind; and your neighbor as your self (Luke 10:27)” the house has heart, soul, strength and mind that sheds overflowing love toward God and all of the family who lives in this house.

Heart is represented by The Life Giving Pond on the north side of the house. The pond is interconnected with the water irrigation line along the fruit tree garden, vegetable garden and herb garden just as blood is circulated through the arteries of the body. As The Life Giving Pond flows the living energy, The Life Renewing Pond renews the energy of the people. It is located at the east side. The Life Healing Pond heals people’s wounds, and it is located at the south side.

Soul is represented by the sanctuary in the living room. The space is for communal prayer, worship and praise. This room nourishes our souls as we observe prayer times and regain the rhythm of the day.

Strength is represented by the solarium green space where energy flows with air as a bridge connecting the east and west sides of the building. It provides us a sustainable strength, as proper healthy breathing is necessary to our body.

Mind
is represented by the Library upstairs. The space is interconnected with the sanctuary and open to the highest level of the house. The space encourages higher learning of the world.

Architectural design elements include the symbolic numbers three and four. Three represents the main essence of our beliefs: faith, love and hope as well as Triune God: three glazing of main entry door and three openings of the gates. Four represents perfection of our life with God’s overflowing grace. Four areas of window opening are at the living room and solarium. Seven represents God’s perfection in the universe. Seven gates are located around the house.

Most of all a rose type stained glass is located at the core of the house. It represents power of God’s love through Christ’s unconditional love for all.
